Siemenpuu contributes to biodiversity policy recommendations for Nordic governments

Over the past few months, Siemenpuu participated in the joint Nordic NGO project Joint Nordic Effort for Biodiversity to accelerate the implementation of the UN’s Kunming-Montreal Biodiversity Framework. The project was led by the Norwegian Forum for utvikling og miljø.

Joint Nordic Effort for Biodiversity: Recommendations from Nordic civil society was published on the Nordic Council of Ministers’ website on 25 September 2024. Under each of the 23 biodiversity targets, the policy recommendations are divided into national implementation within the Nordic Region, as well as international action e.g. through development cooperation, trade and environmental funding.

The report will be submitted to all Nordic governments ahead of the next UN Biodiversity Conference COP16, which will take place in Cali, Colombia, at the end of October.
